ABOUT
Cerezo, Inc. and its history
Cerezo, Inc. began as a small 2-person residential landscape maintenance company called Cerezo Gardening Services, founded by Miguel Torres Sr. and his son Miguel Torres Jr. The father and son duo started by maintaining residences but had plans to expand into landscape construction projects in the future.
Like everything in life, the company faced its initial struggles, such as dealing with clients who did not hold up their end of the deal or contractors taking advantage of the company. Despite these challenges, we persevered, educating ourselves more and incorporating in 2018, becoming a CSLB licensed landscape construction company. The company remains family-owned to this day.
Founders and their history
Miguel Torres Sr. decided to forge his own path doing what he loves - creating beautiful landscapes - after being laid off from a well-known landscape construction company due to the economic collapse in 2008. He was a top foreman at this company and has accumulated more than 40 years of experience in the industry.
Miguel Torres Jr. decided to follow in his father's footsteps as they both embarked on their entrepreneurial journey. Jr. already had landscape experience as well, since he worked for the same company Sr. did. The time came when Jr. knew he needed to obtain his landscape contractor license. He passed the California State License Board exam, cementing him as the landscape contractor for Cerezo, Inc.
